Grooming
The first topic on the Stage One syllabus and perhaps I think one of my favourite parts of horse care is grooming. Endless hours have been spent fantasising about that pony that I would groom and tack up for a picturesque picnic ride on the beach. Alas this never happened for me as a kid but I still enjoy the process of getting your horse ready for work.
You need to know:
* What's in a grooming kit and what it is used for
* How to clean it
* Why grooming is important
* How to groom
Lovely. I have to admit the tail bandage is the aspect I need to practice but here's a link to a good tutorial on How to put on a tail bandage. I love the classic pony club style of the instructor, what a legend, she makes it look so straight forward and efficient.
